23.

HAPPY WORLD THYROID DAY!!! Hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday! Don't forget the Biggest Loser season finale is tonight! I'm so so excited!!! And for all of you who are more than addicted to 24 like I am, I feel your sadness...I definitely got teary eyed last night (For those of you who don't know...last night was the series finale after 8 seasons *sniff*) haha but okay on to happier things. I lost 2.4 lbs yesterday! woo hoo! Still struggling with going to the bathroom though. I'm going to try getting even more fiber and see if that helps at all, I'll let y'all know. I don't know what went on this weekend, but I've lost pretty much 1/2 of what I gained, so I'm back on track! :)

Also, I finally bought Evening Primrose Oil. (for those of you wondering it has NO: artificial color, flavor or sweetener, preservatives, sugar, starch, milk, lactose, soy, gluten, wheat, yeast, fish or sodium...so yes, you can take it haha) It promotes women's health and such but our wonderful Mary J. Shomon used it and has gone from pencil thin hair -while in a pony tail- to beautiful thick hair. And Lindy, who reads & comments on this blog was about to shave her head before she found out about evening primrose oil, and she started seeing a difference in two months! It is time for my hair to grow back! Thank you all for the encouragement yesterday, you have no idea how much that meant to me you are all wonderful! Until next time

  1. I am hypo and since changing meds I have constipation even when I eat alot of fiber. Drink prune juice. I don't care much for it, but it's working. Two glasses for a day and than one a day to keep you working.

  2. Evening Primrose Oil definitely worked form me, in a couple different ways. My hair did begin growing back, and it also helped ease a couple of my PCOS symptoms.

Here's hoping you get some good results from it too! :)

  4. Hi Molly! I have been "silently" reading your blog for a few wks now. I just want to tell you that your an inspiration to me. I too have hypo. I was diagnosed in late 2000 and in 2007 started having unexplained seizures. Come to find out I was growing (very rapidly) nodules on my thyroid. I had a total thyroidectomy and one parathyroid removed within a few wks of finding out. No more seizures, but contunious prob with my weight. I lost 47lbs about 2yrs ago and it is slowly coming back on. I came across your site and am reinspired to take charge of my disease and life. I just wanted to THANK YOU! I wish you much success and look forward to continued reading and strength from you. You are doing a great job!----Christa

  6. i forgot to mention this yesterday - i don't know if you're allowed/like cottage cheese on the thyroid diet; but if you are; look for "digestive health" cottage cheese. i'm a vegetarian so i've been using that for my protein since i found out soy was a nono; and the digestive health kinds have a ton of fiber too, + have helped my poop regulate sooo much! :-P

  7. I searched for some hypothyroid blogs on Google and came across yours. I'm starting to read from your first entry and I was brought to tears. Although I've only read one entry I want to thank you for making this blog. I'm 22 and I've had hypothyroidism for a year and a half now and I'm still struggling a bit. Now with this blog it has given me more hope than before. Please continue to share your trials and tribulations and accomplishments.

  8. Hey Molly,
I just found your blog and thanks so much for your writing and inspiration. I've been taking medication for my hypothyroidism for 9 years and weigh now 181. I struggle with getting lower and have the books from Mary S. Time for me to get back to using her suggestions and see me get lower and healthier! (my lowest ever was 168lbs 2 yrs. ago)
Keep up the great blog and encouragment to the rest of us!
    Mary

  9. Thanks for posting this blog...I've been reading for weeks, and it's given me the courage, incentive, and inspiration I need to get started...waiting for the book to arrive! I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis about three years ago. I've gained about 30 lbs. since then, and had gained about 20 before I knew what the problem was. It has to stop. Your blog gives me hope that I have the power within me to stop it, if I use the right tools and have the right attitude! I *really* hope that book arrives soon! Will also check out the evening primrose oil. Thanks!

  10. Amy -- Thank you! I'll definitely check into that, I'm sure it's fine on the thyroid diet but I'll look it up!

Vanessa -- Thank you so much for that, that was so sweet. You don't know how much what you said meant to me! I'll be praying for you I know how frustrating this disease is! :) Thank you for reading my blog!

Mary -- Thank you for reading! I can't believe how amazing Mary Shomon's books have worked for me! Good luck getting down to where you want to be! I'll be praying for you to get there!

Sherylnjay -- I'm so glad! Just one quick thing, don't get overwhelmed by the book. It's kind of big...but just take it part by part. I actually started in the middle, then read the beginning, then read the end. haha! Good luck I'm so excited for you to start and see what happens! You can definitely do that, you couldn't believe how great I feel knowing I took control of this. My Dr was always saying DON'T diet. DON'T try! Just leave it alone and let what happens happen. HA! right...when I've gained 183 lbs? Don't think so! And I feel amazing knowing I'm doing what she said was impossible :) I love it and you will too! I'm so excited for you! keep me updated!

  15. Hey Molly,
Just saying hi. I got started on synthroid yesterday - my endo decided it was a good idea even before the surgery. I am so nervous for tomorrow! I actually lost it today when I saw some pics of me from only a few months back. I feel so ugly now I even had to quit fb because of some unkind comments on how much weight I've gained (they made me cry). Anyhow, I hope you are doing good and I will make sure to update you on how surgery goes. Fingers crossed.

  16. OH my goodness Lucia, I can't believe people would say anything to you about that. That is incredibly rude. You're beautiful...don't let others tell you differently. I'm praying for you for tomorrow!
