56.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Halfway through the work week, it's all down hill from here! Okay, so I've lost .5 pounds since Monday and I'm at 278.5 right now :) Yay! Things are still going really slow right now, but I'm working hard to get past this point. I've gotten motivated all over again, but there still isn't a lot happening, does anyone have any other ideas? Also, since there isn't a lot going on, I was considering going down to only 1-2 posts a week? Maybe until things start picking up? What do you guys think? I could really use some suggestions and thoughts right now! I hope you are all doing amazing, and I really hope to get past this point soon! I'm not happy staying here...I want to keep moving forward! So with all my motivation and the right foods there, what would you guys suggest to get a jump on things? I just need something, whatever it may be, that pushes me past this point and I know I'll be off again! Anyway, can't wait to hear from you! Have a great day :)

  1. Ok, so you said you are doing your TTAP, are you still doing the elliptical? You might try interval training on the elliptical. This method seems to be working for me. Push yourself for 30-60 seconds and then slow down to recover for a couple minutes and then do it again. You can Google for info on it. Another thing that seems to help me is to eat closer to 1300-1400 calories per day vs trying to be down near 1000-1100. I read where your body can go into a starvation/preservation mode if you are too low on calories. I've been losing jsut over a pound a week and that is making me very happy! I have been reading your blog for a while and no matter what you are going through, you are always so upbeat and have such a positive attitude. I was diagnosed hypothyroid approximately 10 years ago and even though, thank God, I am doing well I like to keep up to date and know how others are doing. Thank you for brightening my days with your excitement for everything; it really comes through in your writing. I really don't know what to suggest to help you right now, but I pray that you get past this plateau and continue to be successful in your quest to lose weight and reach all your goals in life.

  3. Hi Molly! I was diagnosed with Hypo about two years ago and its been slow increases to my medication ever since. I go again next week, so we will see if it happens again. I find you very motivating! Don't go to only two blog posts a week. If anything you should write more, since you are so determined to break through this plateau. It'll keep you focused and determined. That is just my two cents. I have lost about 15 pounds and have kept it off almost a year. I'm still at 220 though and would like to be less than that.     Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us. You are inspiring even when you don't think you are! Wanted to share a bit of my story...I was fit and active before hypo and I felt robbed of that fit, athletic feeling for a long time. Now with what I think is the right dose/med combo, I'm starting to feel like myself again. I think I owe a large part of that to the Couch-to-5K Program. You can find the info at coolrunning.com. Their facebook fan page is amazing with lots of support too. The program is a gradual walk/run interval program that has people (like me!) running a 5k in 9 weeks. (If you have a smart phone, you can get an app that tells you when to switch from walking/running.) I think you've mentioned before that running isn't your thing but I have heard of numerous people modifying the program to walk/walk faster intervals instead of walk/run. I've lost 7 pounds and lots of inches. The real bonus is how much better I feel. Makes my system work better and elevates my mood to the point where I say crazy things like "I really need to go run." :) It also allowed me to change goal patrol bracelets...I'm on step 4! Just a thought about what is working for me right now! Again, thanks for sharing and motivating us along the way! -Linda

  5. Brenda -- So in the phase of TTapp that I'm in now, you aren't supposed to do ANY other exercise (except maybe walking...but it's 104 outside. way too hot) Thank you for that though! And as for calories, I have definitely been trying to get more calories in. (someone else talked to me about maybe i wasn't eating enough) and after thinking about it, I think you guys are both right!, so I am slowly adding more and more in. Thank you for your thoughts doll!

    Linda -- OH MY GOODNESS! I did that couch to 5K program in College, but that was right before I got diagnosed with hypo, so I hadn't been able to keep up with it. I like the way they have that though! Congrats on the 7 pounds! And I'm so happy you feel good, when you feel good you can take on the world, and it makes a huge difference especially when you have thyroid problems! I'm so excited you're on step 4! I have checked out those bracelets and they are a great idea! Thank you for your comment, and keep going girl!   6. Just found your blog and I can really emphasize with you. Although I've only had Hypothyroidism and Fibromyalgia, my weight hit 240 at one point and I am only 5'2! I treat with Thyro-Gold from ThyroidScience.us and my FMS went away. But my weight loss eventually stalled even with appropriate thyroid meds. I recently discovered the HCG diet and lost 23 pounds in 26 days on my first round using the Homeopathic Drops. I wasn't expecting that much success since I read that thyroid problems make this diet less successful but thankfully not in my case--probably because I am effectively treating it. For my next round I am going back to the Dr. Simeons basics and try the HCG injections. I was amazed at how good I felt on the diet and it was SO motivating to watch the scale go down each day or so. Knowing that a cheat would set my weightloss back by about 3 days, it was easy to overcome the temptations. Also, you could research "Burst Training" which is an exercise that successfully burns fat by doing it only 3 times per week for 15 minutes (as long as you don't eat sugar or fructose within 2 hours of the exercise) AND it also increases Human Growth Hormone.

    So the HCG diet (which I learned about on Mary Shomon's site) along with Burst Training while not actively on the HCG protocol are very effective. HCG diet recommends little exercise while on the 3 1/2 week weightloss phase but is good while you are waiting for the next HCG cycle. If you follow the diet faithfully, you can expect to lose 20-25 pounds each cycle on it. It helps re-set your metabolism as well. And it helps change your view of food and helps you to start wanting real quality foods so you can eat normally again. I have found that I can indulge occasionally on old naughty favorites and they don't overly affect me. When they do, I am "forced" to eat a big juicy steak and a tomato for supper and the weight comes back off by morning. Amazing really. A steak is my "punishment" and cure for overeating while on maintenance. Consider looking into it to see if you are a candidate for it. Keep up the good work!!
